And the Winner Is...

Last year, I had an idea to start an essay competition to celebrate the role women play in shaping society and making the world a better place. This has become an annual event known as the Mom of the Year Essay Competition.

This years' winner is .... drum roll please....

Glenda Davis

2010 Nica Mom of the Year Ms. Glenda Davis (R) with daughter Nia (L)

Ms. Glenda was nominated by her daughter Nia who wrote a compelling essay on why her mom should be the Mom of the Year, below is a brief excerpt:

"A constant fixture at my trainings, speaking engagements and meetings, my Mother takes supporting her children to another level. For those who attend, they know she’s the one who introduces herself as “The woman responsible for Nia getting here” and she means that literally. She tells everyone that I’m her “She-ro” yet the truth is she is my inspiration...I feel immensely blessed to be given a Mother as beautiful, strong, intelligent, giving and loving as my Mother. She continues to be an inspiration to me and all those who know her. To that end, it gives me great pleasure to nominate my Mother, Glenda L. Davis as Nica Mom of the Year."

Ms. Glenda Davis will receive a Nica Naturals gift basket worth $100 and Nia will receive a $25 gift certificate. Congratulations.

For those of you who missed the opportunity to submit your nomination, the entry process is straight forward, a short blurb on why your nominee should be the Mom of the Year. So, write up your essay now and save it for the 2011 competition.

Until Next Time,

Benardett
