This recipe makes it simple to pamper yourself in a short time frame without breaking the bank. Add a 2 minute Pampering Hand Treatment to your weekly self care routine to invigorate your hands and give you that luxurious spa feeling. Here's how:

You Will Need

1tbs of a Nica Naturals’ Brown Sugar Scrub
1 cup of Water or Herbal Infusion
Nica Naturals’ Shea Butter Moisturizer or Oil

How to Use

1. Apply the brown sugar body scrub to hands using circular motions. Concentrate on dry/rough areas.

2.Rinse hands using plain water or herbal infusion.
3.Pat hands dry.
4.Follow with Nica Naturals’ Shea Butter Moisturizer or oil of choice.
Of course, it goes without saying, you can spend more than 2 minutes on this hand treatment if you have the time.

Quick Tip: Make clean up a breeze by sprinkling baking soda in your sink after this treatment. Baking soda works wonders and absorbs the excess oil.

The products used in this treatment are available in a Shea Butter & Sugar Scrub set at the Nica Naturals e-store, www.nicanaturals.com/nicastore

Shea Butter & Sugar Scrub Set in Sweetness Scent

Staying Cool In This Heat Wave

Summer is a fun time, but, with it can come heat waves that are not so fun. The northeast region of the United States is experiencing record temperatures this week and staying cool is your first defense against heat exhaustion. A great way to recover from the heat and relieve uncomfortable heat rash also known as prickly heat is soaking in the tub. Here is a pretty simple recipe that adults can try:

A good soak can help soothe prickly heat.

Prickly Heat Soak
1 Cup Baking Soda
4 Drops Lavender Essential Oil

Add the lavender essential oil to your baking soda and mix thoroughly. Run a warm bath and add the mixture to your bath before soaking.

If you are on the go and can't soak in the tub, you can make a mist that works just as well. I learned this recipe a few years ago from the Valeria Worwood's book on essential oils and aromatherapy.

Prickly Heat Body Mist
6 Drops Chamomile Essential Oil
6 Drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
6 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
1tsp Alcohol ( I use Vodka)
1 Cup of Water

Mix essential oil with alcohol and add to water. Splash or mist area as needed.

Remember drink lots of water, wear light clothing, cool showers, baths or sponge baths.

Stay Cool,
Benardett

And the Winner Is...

Last year, I had an idea to start an essay competition to celebrate the role women play in shaping society and making the world a better place. For those who attend, they know she’s the one who introduces herself as “The woman responsible for Nia getting here” and she means that literally. She tells everyone that I’m her “She-ro” yet the truth is she is my inspiration...I feel immensely blessed to be given a Mother as beautiful, strong, intelligent, giving and loving as my Mother. She continues to be an inspiration to me and all those who know her. To that end, it gives me great pleasure to nominate my Mother, Glenda L. Davis as Nica Mom of the Year."

Ms. Glenda Davis will receive a Nica Naturals gift basket worth $100 and Nia will receive a $25 gift certificate. Congratulations.

For those of you who missed the opportunity to submit your nomination, the entry process is straight forward, a short blurb on why your nominee should be the Mom of the Year.
